Mai’s Áo Dài Book and pre-1975 era Vietnamese Music Event
Location: Abacus Row
Sunday, April 27
11am–2pm

Christine Trac of Abacus Row invites you to join us for a special children’s story time and vinyl music event rooted in Vietnamese heritage and community. On this special Sunday afternoon at the shop Thai Nguyen, fashion designer and author, will be reading his debut children’s book “Mai's Áo Dài”. Thanh Tân, filmmaker and co-founder of SEA Vinyl Society, will be spinning rare pre-1975 Vietnamese records before and after the reading.

These three childhood friends from Olympia, Washington are coming together to share stories and sounds from their Vietnamese heritage. Experience Thai's meaningful debut book—the one we all wish we had at the library when we were kids—book-ended by Thanh providing a unique soundtrack from her collection of formerly banned South Vietnamese nhạc vàng.

RSVP here kindly requested, but not required.

Pre-order your copy of Mai's Áo Dài today to be signed at the event.
