2025 Year of the Snake Calendar
We're delighted to introduce this year's Lunar New Year calendar. This is the sixth calendar that we’ve collaborated on with photographer Andria Lo. Each year, we come together to produce a still life scene to joyfully welcome a new year. For this particular edition, our Year of the Snake calendar features a decadent Dutch-inspired scene overflowing with wishes for health, resiliency and longevity, in additional to abundance and good fortune.
A century egg offers a new beginning and longevity on top of chestnuts, plum, reishi mushroom, rose hip, and green oil—each an offering of wellness and good health. The plentifulness of grapes, longan, and pomegranate express abundance and good fortune, as well as wishes for a sweet year and for family blessings. In appearance with persimmons, it reflects the wish for these hopes to emerge from our undertakings in the year ahead. Finally, a strand of jade beads for their believed power to avert any misfortune while ushering in health and good fortune.
Of our six calendar collaborations, this is our fifth year producing these calendars as a fundraiser for various community organizations. Over the past 4 years we’ve raised over $9600 for community based organizations, including Viets for Afghans, Good Good Eatz, Asian Women’s Shelter, and Chinatown Volunteer Coalition.
Proceeds from this year’s calendar will be directed to Friends of Lincoln Square Park in Oakland. This place-based organization was founded in 2016 by a multi-generational group of volunteers to fundraise, advocate, and lay out a vision for a larger new Lincoln Recreation Center in Oakland Chinatown that better serves the community. The organization sponsors park programming to ensure that the park continues to be a welcoming and thriving public park for everyone, now, and for generations to come.
